Today was a rather strange day in the Guild Wars 2 community. The long-awaited "dance" emotes were leaked and flooded the internet with all of their glory.
I watched several of the videos, but I was working, so I only did so with distracted interest. I actually enjoyed the short clips we received, and I quite excited to see the 'full versions' released. However, after reviewing some of the fan reviews, there are quite a few unhappy people. In fact, there may be more disappointed people than those who are pleased.
The biggest revelation from the leak was that the dance emotes are the same for both males and females. This is very preliminary and extremely unofficial, but "that" is what the leaked videos show. In Guild Wars 1, mainly because there was only one race, the dances were unique to each profession. From what we can guess, in Guild Wars 2, the dances are only unique to each race (and not by gender of each race).
The videos were quickly shutdown to copyright infringment, and the internet has gone dark. Outside of Guild Wars Insider, I can't find a mainstream news source talking about it. However one look at the fan reaction in the comments below the GWI article, shows the fan's reaction, and it is far from positive.
Did you see any of the leaked videos? What did you think?
I am thinking and hoping they are fake.
