There's a Storm Brewing

After what has seemed like months of Team Paradigm domination in structured PvP, a new guilds steals the throne decidedly winning several matches.

Super Squad has been relatively quiet in the GW2 arena, but has been making quite a splash recently for their videos against Team Paradigm during BWE 3.  Furthermore, it's nice to see some friendly competition brewing between rival factions, and I can decidedly say sPvP is a ton of fun to watch.  ArenaNet may just succeed in making Guild Wars 2 an E-sport.

A smaller, but significant observation is that Super Squad includes a thief on their team.  After much discussion from Paradigm and others about the weakness of thieves, they may just be eating their words.  Thieves definitely received some buffs in BWE3 (which I will probably detail eventually) without ArenaNet changing any of our major mechanics.  A feat that many doubted would even be possible.  (And what's more the thief is using a shortbow, venom build! (aka my favorite build at the moment).  I've been worried for some time over the profession, but I'm glad to see some strong representation in sPvP in BWE 3.

Note:  Super Squad published several quality Youtube videos with various points of views from each of the members, so I encourage you to find the appropriate video for your interest.

  2. Sorry for double post...spelling goofs.

You know, thanks to your updates on the thief I'm going to have to reconsider playing one. I played a rouge in WoW and really enjoyed the required tactics and strategy it took to play one in both PvE and PvP. I'd like to experience that again in GW2. Thanks for the information.

    1. Thanks for the comment Zonian!

Yeah, they are definitely an interesting profession, and in my opinion even more so than WoW's iteration. I feel like this time around, we have so many more competitive options in both PvE and PvP. It will definitely be interesting to see how the meta game for the profession develops post-launch.
