I have no voice, and I certainly don’t carry any weight in my words to you ArenaNet. We asked for many changes to your PvE content, but this was almost never asked for by the majority of your fanbase. I have defended you countless times, and trusted you far more than any company rightfully deserves. I hoped this game would be different, that it would set a precedent for other upcoming MMOs. When you challenged the current field of competitors, it was we who rose with you. When you cried for change, it was us who spread the news that it was time for a new type of MMO. When it was you who asked who will play, we answered with a resounding “yes.” You will likely not lose money, many of us will still play, and you will almost certainly not read this. But you have lost our trust, I hope it was worth it.

  1. *hugs* I may not 100% agree with you Entombed, but I know how it feel to think you don't have a voice and the game you champion is screwing you over.

What do you think needs to happen for you to play happy?

    1. I would like to rephrase your question to what would I think should happen for me to trust ArenaNet again. Happiness makes it sound like I will be miserable come Thursday. A game has no effect on my overall well being, because well after all, it's just a game. However, for me, to trust ArenaNet they need to simply change Ascended gear. Reduce the stats back to exotic levels. I would like to see the capacity to physically add Infusion slots to gear, that would only be used to combat the PvE dungeon-only condition of agony. This would provide a greater sense of progression in PvE, without harming my love of WvW. Furthermore, the only players affected by the gameplay would be the ones working to achieve it. If they are running the dungeon, they are doing it because they want "that" shiny or want to be the best. Having no gear treadmill, does not mean that you don't have to work for what you want. Just keep it far away from WvW. Furthermore, it does not technically break any of the previous promises made by Arenanet. Thus, the only ones affected are casuals who want to beat the 'hardest' content in the game. Furthermore, they are not restricted from playing the dungeon and experiencing all the fractals. These small fixes would solve 90% of the calamity made by Ascended items.

  2. Well, for one thing I'd like it if ArenaNet developers would stop parroting WoW and try to establish their own identity. Do we need more item tiers? No. Unfortunately, it seems ArenaNet seems focused on Guild Wars 2 being less about fashion and more about stats.

    1. I would be hesitant to say that ArenaNet is parroting WoW. They have been very active in their discussions on how they are trying to combat the conventions of the genre, and I'm not sure that this is a reversal of that. It is however, a blatant break of several of their promises they have made to us. Your last statement, however, I agree completely with.
